A new study from the iCARE cohort examined kidney health over two years in 188 youth living with type 2 diabetes.
The study found that 27% had albuminuria—an early marker of kidney injury—at baseline, with 17% experiencing progression after two years. Youth also experienced high levels of stress and psychological distress, highlighting the importance of addressing both kidney and mental health in youth living with T2D.
