From May 7 – 9, 2026, Can-SOLVE CKD held their 10th Annual Meeting in Quebec City. Dr. Allison Dart received the Howard Vincent Reconciliation Award and CHRIM patient engagement coordinator Brianna Hunt and iCARE patient partner Onalee Garcia-Alecia presented at the meeting.
Congratulations to Dr. Allison Dart on being a recipient of the 2026 Can-SOLVE CKD Awards! We are proud to celebrate Dr. Allison Dart on being recognized as the recipient of the Howard Vincent Reconciliation Award. This honour recognizes a non-Indigenous individual who has demonstrated a meaningful commitment to advancing Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples within the network.
Dr. Dart is a long-term collaborator with Indigenous communities and has shown commitment to ethical partnerships grounded in the OCAP principles. She is recognized for her leadership in community-driven research and her ongoing work alongside First Nations and Métis youth, families, scholars, and health leaders.

CHRIM patient engagement coordinator Brianna Hunt and iCARE patient partner Onalee Garcia-Alecio gave a joint presentation at the meeting. They described how youth patient partners and their families contributed to educational resources designed to help clinicians better explain kidney function concepts to pediatric and adolescent patients.
