Dr. Dolinsky receives the Allen Rouse Basic Science Career Development Research Award

Dr. Vern Dolinsky has recently received the Allen Rouse Basic Science Career Development Research Award from the Manitoba Medical Service Foundation (MMSF), which is valued at $170,000. Dr. Dolinsky’s research program focuses on investigating the mechanisms involved in the development of gestational diabetes and how gestational diabetes contributes to the development of obesity, diabetes and related cardiovascular disease in youth. He aims to addresses the clinical problem of obesity and heart disease in the offspring utilizing both mechanistic and translational approaches. Funds provided by the MMSF Allen Rouse Basic Science Career Development Research Award will be instrumental for the development of Dr. Dolinsky’s research program focused on GDM and the developmental origins of disease.
