Dr. Vern Dolinsky wins the Allen Rouse Basic Science Career Development Research Award

Dr. Vernon Dolinsky’s work in gestational diabetes has earned him the Allen Rouse Basic Science Career Development Research Award from the Manitoba Medical Service Foundation (MMSF). The Clinical Research Professorship award is valued at $170,000, with an annual salary of $50,000 for three years for the awardee. A $20,000 grant-in-aid during the first year of the appointment has also been awarded. For more information CLICK HERE.

Dr. Meghan Azad and the CHILD study receive funding from new IHDCYH grants

Announced today, the multi-institutional CHILD Study research team involving the University of Manitoba and the University of Calgary has been awarded $75,000 by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health (IHDCYH), to investigate how consuming artificial sweeteners during pregnancy influences infant weight gain. ​ CLICK HERE to read more!

Congratulations to Dr. Jim Davie as his paper in Molecular Biology from 2006 is among the top cited papers published that year, and therefore becoming a "classic". Classic papers are highly-cited papers that have stood the test of time. For each area of research, Google Scholar lists the ten most cited articles that were published ten years earlier. Dr. Dean awarded the 2017 Alan Ross Award

The Alan Ross award is the most prestigious award given by the Canadian Pediatric Society in recognition of excellence in the field of pediatric research, education, healthcare and advocacy. Congratulations Dr. Dean, and thank you for your tireless commitment to pediatric research and healthcare in Manitoba.

Dr. Paul Fernyhough has been appointed as the Department Head of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, effective May 31, 2017.
